HEC Releases Revised LLB 4-Year Curriculum – No Age Limit | Effective Fall 2025

📘 About the Notification
According to the official document (No. 5.4/HEC/NCRC/Law/2025/7695), the revised curriculum has been developed in collaboration with:
- Pakistan Bar Council (PBC)
- Directorate of Legal Education (DLE)
- Supreme Court of Pakistan (Constitutional Bench)
🎯 Purpose of the Update
The updated curriculum aims to align legal education with international best practices and ensure that Pakistani law graduates are globally competitive. It also reflects national priorities and HEC's Undergraduate & Graduate Education Policies (2023).
🆕 Key Features of the New Curriculum
- ✅ No Age Limit for Admission
- ✅ Inclusion of Advanced Electives (06)
- ✅ Emphasis on Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) and Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs)
- ✅ Mandatory Legal Internships, Legal Research & Drafting
- ✅ Electronic Submission of Finalized Course Content
📅 When Will It Be Implemented?
This revised curriculum is applicable for all public and private sector universities offering LLB degrees starting from the Fall 2025 intake.
📝 What Universities Must Do
All universities are directed to align their course structures according to the new standards. Each department must:
- Submit finalized content electronically
- Implement PLOs and CLOs in each subject
- Include the updated electives and internship options
